“I don’t really care what I look like that much, and I think women out there should just be happy with the way they look. They shouldn’t really try to conform to any kind of stereotype. Just be happy and hopefully healthy. You see other actresses who are like ‘Oh, I can’t really eat much lunch today because I’ve got that scene in my underwear’… I’m a little bit chill. But you know, what you do need is stamina. I don’t ever want to be too unhealthy because writing in a show, starring and producing, you need a lot of energy.”
--Rebel Wilson on body image, self esteem, and not placing priority on the physical appearance of a person. There's really only two words to say about all this, and it's "preach, sister."
There's a lot of troubling things happening these days when it comes to people being bullied on their physical appearance -- "you're too skinny," "you're too fat," or even worse, even more detailed, most of the comments on the previous Kim Kardashian story, which are reprehensible and terribly judgmental. Hate a person's actions, rag on their fashion choices, and belittle them for their life decisions all you want -- but when you bully someone based on the way their body is shaped or the way their face is formed, then you're a special kind of awful.
As for Rebel, again -- preach it, sister!
