Lady Gaga Needs to Sit Back, Shut Up, and Take Note

Beyonce just dropped the hottest new thing in music -- and it's called "Beyonce," a self-titled "visual album." Surprise!

In a move that only few suspected, Beyonce dropped new music -- an entire album comprised of 17 songs ... complete with stunning, compelling music videos. An official statement for the album reads, "That the album is available on the day the world is learning about its release is an unprecedented strategic move by the artist to deliver music and visual content directly to her fans when she wants to and how she wants to, with no filter."

Amazing, right? There was no need for an obnoxious marketing blitz, no premeditated "surprise" appearances complete with camera and journalists and riders or anything else -- just straight-up good music and fabulous filmography.

You can listen to :30 second snippets of all the songs (as well as see the amazing videos) on Bey's YouTube channel

Check it out -- here's "Yoncé," which features Beyonce's other other alter-ego, Yoncé:

Then you have "Blue," a tribute to her daughter, Blue Ivy (and somehow the music just keeps getting better and better):

Next up is "Haunted," which is my personal favorite:

... Oh, wait, no, sorry -- this is my personal favorite, "Heaven," a dark ballad about losing a dear friend:

And for a change-up, another favorite, Bey's "Blow," a hard-tempo dance song reminiscent of 70's disco:

Moral of the story? Beyonce is clearly the smartest lady in the music business, and this stunt proves thoroughly that she knows what she's doing. For the love of God -- "bow down," indeed.
