All Hail Queen Lena

"... I have... it's funny, I have sort of a Zen body philosophy, I'm sort of like: we're one weight one day, we're one weight another day, and some day our body just doesn't even exist at all! It's just a vessel I've been given to move through this life. I think about my body as a tool to do the stuff I need to do, but not the be all and end all of my existence. Which sounds like I spent a week at a meditation retreat, but it's genuinely how I feel. ... think, if I can do anything, as cliche as it sounds, to aid in the comfort of a woman accepting her form, then I want to do that."
--Lena Dunham in a recently-unearthed interview that she gave back in 2012 before her fame with "Girls" positively exploded, and if there is a better body image role model who also happens to be a twentysomething young woman, then you name her, because -- surprise! -- nobody beats Lena at this game.
You don't have to be a "Girls" fan (I'm not), and you don't even need to really agree with her varying degrees of sometimes-questionable fashion (though I do), but a few things are certain and indisputable -- Lena is immensely talented, immensely beautiful, and has an immensely old soul. Just try to think of how many other 27-year-old women have their heads and their hearts aligned so perfectly almost every single time. ... See? You can't, can you.*
(*No, you can't.)
