Ellen Page: Still Just the Absolute Best at Life and Everything Else

It's not too often that we get to praise Ellen Page and all her glorious, adorable magic around these parts, and that's because she just really doesn't do all that much. I mean, she does stuff, obviously, she does a wonderful job acting in wonderful movies, but she's just not one of those gossip-friendly celebrities. She doesn't do a lot of interviews, she doesn't get into Twitter fights or anything. She's probably just too busy being awesome.
But thankfully, she did do an interview recently with Flare magazine, and she discussed her big coming out speech from a few months ago. And guys, if you thought she was great before ...
On her public coming out speech:
“I was very nervous. I was very nervous, yes. Yes. Very, very nervous. Yes. I was emotional, deeply, deeply emotional. You think you’re in a place where you’re all I’m thrilled to be gay, I have no issues about being gay anymore, I don’t feel shame about being gay, but you actually do. You’re just not fully aware of it. I think I still felt scared about people knowing. I felt awkward around gay people; I felt guilty for not being myself.”
On the reaction:
“I expected so much more hate. It was just remarkably positive, which is beautiful, because it’s indicative of the change that’s happening.”
On her career now:
“I feel more creatively inspired than I have in years. And I’m sure it has to do with a lot of bricks being taken out of the backpack.”
This is just lovely. Ellen Page deserves all the inspiration, all the lightness, and all the love. Go ahead and get on that, world.
