Quotables: Mick Jagger Suffers Through His Rock Star Life, Says "You Make The Best of It"
“A schoolteacher would have been very gratifying, I’m sure. There are millions of things you would have loved to have done, a politician, a journalist… I thought of being a journalist once. All these things you think of when you’re a teenager, you can think, well, I would have liked to have done that but that’s completely pointless … But I don’t feel frustrated for a lack of control at all and I’m very pleased with what I’ve done Everyone wants to have done more things in their lives. It is a slightly intellectually undemanding thing to do, being a rock singer, but, you know, you make the best of it.”
--Mick Jagger proves that some people are never content, no matter how much money they make or how insanely famous and beloved they are.
How weird is this though? Crazy old Mick Jagger, that wacky, wacky legend, thinks being a teacher would have been cool, but he'll deal with being one of the biggest rock stars alive? What kind of shenanigans are these? Really, it feels a little like blasphemy to give some sass to this legend, but this is sort of the dumbest thing that anyone's ever said. You don't just sing blessed hits like "Ruby Tuesday" and say "Well, I guess I'll just make the best out of this." Love you, Mick, but that's absolutely ridiculous.
