Hey, Dr. Phil, You're a Moron!
So hey. Here's a question for you, one that you can take seriously, or even say, "WTF, what kind of question even IS this?" But keep in mind that this is a real thing that Dr. Phil actually posed to his followers on Twitter. Don't believe it? Well, that's OK. The tweet has been pulled down, but as you know, everything on the internet lives forever and ever and ever, much like the parasites that grow in the toilets of man.
Here it is:
Wait a damn second, now, Dr. Phil. No. It is absolutely not OK to have sex with a girl when she's drunk because hey -- it's called impairment. And a lot of times when people are impaired, they don't make the same decisions that they might normally make when they're sober. What kind of question even is that? Why would you even think it's OK to wonder about something like that?
On the flip side, people are arguing that just because you're drunk doesn't mean you're unable to give consent to have sex. It's a double-edged sword, but the bottom line is that it's a stupid question to even ask, and people more often than not get themselves into trouble with this kind of thing.
Also, a rep for the doc said that it totally wasn't taken the way it was intended:
"This tweet was intended to evoke discussion leading into a very serious show topic. It was not intended to be taken lightly. It's based upon a recent news story, hence the #teenaccused label."
"This tweet was intended to evoke discussion." No, this tweet was intended to stir the pot, and it's a cheap way to do it.
Thoughts? Aside from the, you know, rational ones that his question was a real, real dumb question?
DO BETTER, DR. PHIL. Damn.
