Sinead O'Connor Just Won the Internet War to End All Internet Wars

Sinead O'Connor and Miley Cyrus
Holy crap, friends, remember yesterday how we talked about Sinead O'Connor basically doing what everyone living in this day and age does when we take to the Internet and play judge and jury to Miley Cyrus' sad entertainment shenanigans? Well Miley responded to Sinead in kind -- as you probably know, comparing her to the mentally ill Amanda Bynes -- referring to Sinead with every "crazy" "joke" you can imagine. Classy, right? Not so much.

Sinead, however, decided that she isn't taking it laying down (thank God, because seriously ... Miley frigging Cyrus. Hannah frigging Montana), and had a response of her own to Miley's mental health mockeries:

Ms Cyrus has today posted tweets of mine which are two years old and which were sent when I was ill and seeking medical help. She has done this in an attempt to deliberately cause me harm and hurt. I wish to confirm that I am quite well and kindly request people cease e mailing me in the mistaken belief these are recent tweets.

Ms Cyrus' lawyers will be contacted by mine regarding this matter.

I confirm also that I do not at all support or condone the abuse or mockery of those who have been brave enough to openly discuss mental health issues. Mockery causes deaths. Period. It is an unacceptable form of bullying, no matter who it is doing the bullying.

And it doesn't just end there, guys. Sinead wrote a bunch of other responses on her Facebook, too, this one being the most recent, and probably the most powerful:

I have no interest whatsoever in meeting you. You had plenty of time yesterday to abuse Amanda Bynes .. an entirely innocent party.. and myself.. who also did nothing to deserve your abuse.. along with every other sufferer of mental health problems and every person who suffered abuse at the hands of priests.

You can take five minutes today between g- string f----n' changes to publicly apologise and remove your abusive tweets. If you do not then you don't give a s--- who you mock and what damage you do by being so ignorant.

When you publicly apologise to Amanda and myself and all mental health sufferers as well as all who were abused by priests that will end the matter as far as I am concerned.

what you did yesterday was designed to damage me and my career and has caused me enormous distress and harassment and has potential to damage my career, since you deliberately gave the impression those tweets of mine were not two years old but reflect my current condition. If you cannot apologize I will have no choice but to bring legal proceedings against you since it is extremely hard to be given work when people think one is suffering from mental illness.

I have no interest in or desire to cause you trouble but if you do not apologise for having deliberately tried to cause me hurt and trouble personally and professionally I will have to bring pressure upon you.

When you end up in the psych ward or rehab I'll be happy to visit you.. and would not lower myself to mock you.

Be a proper woman and make the public apologies I have listed above. Your hosting SNL is a bulls--- reason for not taking five minutes to do the right thing and your behaviour yesterday will rebound upon you very badly.

You have no business abusing Amanda Bynes or anyone else. How do you think you made her feel yesterday? How do you feel when your friend Britney Spears is mocked and humiliated for having had mental health problems? I know I personally want to bash those who treat her that way. If she is your friend and more importantly if you are a true friend to her.. you ought apologise for joining those who mock and humiliate women who have been too nice frankly, to manage the music business without sensibly losing their minds.

Cease behaving in an anti-female capacity. You will become the victim of it shortly. Soon it will be you the media 'crazy' .. and you will not enjoy it.. and you will appreciate people (like myself) standing up for you. Which I will be happy to do.. if you earn my respect today by apologising publicly.

Whoa, guys. Sinead is pretty upset, and you know what? She's got a point ... as well as every right to be as angry as she is.

You suck, Miley.

Miley was responding to criticisms of a prude. If Miley is being sexual because she wants to, ask Madonna if there's anything wrong with that. Making it a gender issue because she responded to Sinead is pathetic, and there's no shortage of men in the music business with drug problems. That being said, Miley went to far posting Sinead's old tweet

I feel for Sinead, and Miley's choice to post that tweet tells me she is not someone I'd want to know. Sinead is making it clear that the root of her problems is abuse by a priest, which sheds light on her SNL appearence. She just shouldn't have publicly criticized Miley.

Miley "get a line in the bathroom" with her twerking and other spastic behavior shouldn't be comparing anyone to Amanda Bynes.

Miley proved she's a stupid bitch tweeting about Sinead. Mocking people with bipolar disorder is an act of stupidity. I cant stand her now

Miley is a stupid little twat and deserves every bit of backlash she is about to receive. She showed more maturity as Hannah Montana than she has as an 'adult'. Her behavior is despicable. I support Sinead 100% in this matter.

Sinead...get over yourself. You're a 46 year old women, who everyone knows is a brooding, insulting whackjob. Miley is a 20 year old girl still finding herself. She initially paid you a compliment and you bit back with nasty. Grow up and be the forty fricking six year old here.

Sinead's the instigator here guys! Sorry but Miley wins this one. You just can't publicly criticize a person and not expect them to react. Both parties just need to lay this issue to rest. No apologies needed.

Miley should be ashamed of herself. If she had bothered to find out why Sinead ripped up the picture of the Pope she would have found out Sinead was protesting the fact that the catholic church and its officials were protecting the pedophile preists. As for the other advice Sinead gave little Ms. Knowitall Cyrus, it was given out of concern and respect for her talent. She was telling her she was better than the cheap sleazy hooker wannabe that she is portraying. That she has talent and didn't need to lower herself with such antics. Do you see Beyonce as succsessful as she is acting so vulgar snd disgusting? MILEY stop being so disrespectful and listen for once to someone who has been there and back. Everyone can't be wrong.

Sinead O'Connor is spot-on here. She tried to give Cyrus some advice--albeit publicly--and not only did Cyrus spit in her face she mocked her illness as well as Amanda Bynes, showing her true, classless, immature self. The irony being the it's seeming more and more that Cyrus has some issues because she can't stop shoving her vagina into our faces 24/7. I still listen to O'Connor's music--in 10 years Cyrus will be a trivia question. And as crazy as O'Connor has acted at times, she at least had the bravery to acknowledge her illness.

Who freaking cares what Miley says. Obviously she's very immature and her young age shows. She has a lot to learn and she's at that age where she thinks she has it all figured out and she thinks she's being so "different". She'll figure it out how ridiculous, young and clueless she used to be one day.

Sinead... doesn't matter what someone said to you, rude or polite, correct or incorrect, you fueled a fire that wasn't lit yet. You had zero business reaching out to Miley trying to "protect her." If you hadn't said anything, chances are Miley wouldn't have come out of nowhere and said anything about you.

Lesson learned? If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. I don't care if it's politically correct or not, this is not a business or an industry that is always politically correct. Personally siding with Miley on this one.

Miley Cyrus is a horrible person. All she does anymore is sit at her computer begging her dumb fans to view this video or buy this crappy single. They're so dumb. She needs to just go away. Take your pot and get lost Miley.

Clearly Miley isn't as smart as she thinks she is. Her initial response to Sinead should've been a simple FYI explaining that she controls all her decisions and is no one's whore. Question is, is manager-mom smart enough to recognize this & prevent her from committing career suicide. SNL is the big winner here. The ratings should be through the roof for a show that can write itself.

If you've actually paid attention to this whole situation you would know that Miley referenced Sinead in saying that Sinead's video "Nothing Compares 2 U" is what influenced her to make "Wrecking Ball". A majority of media outlets decided to bombard Sinead in asking her how she felt about that comparison. Instead of replying each media outlet one by one, she decided she wanted to address the question with an open letter. Hence her involvement in this all.
