Quotables: Here's Another Fab Reason to Adore Rebel Wilson

“I don’t really care what I look like that much, and I think women out there should just be happy with the way they look. They shouldn’t really try to conform to any kind of stereotype. Just be happy and hopefully healthy. You see other actresses who are like ‘Oh, I can’t really eat much lunch today because I’ve got that scene in my underwear’…  I’m a little bit chill. But you know, what you do need is stamina. I don’t ever want to be too unhealthy because writing in a show, starring and producing, you need a lot of energy.”

--Rebel Wilson on body image, self esteem, and not placing priority on the physical appearance of a person. There's really only two words to say about all this, and it's "preach, sister."

There's a lot of troubling things happening these days when it comes to people being bullied on their physical appearance -- "you're too skinny," "you're too fat," or even worse, even more detailed, most of the comments on the previous Kim Kardashian story, which are reprehensible and terribly judgmental. Hate a person's actions, rag on their fashion choices, and belittle them for their life decisions all you want -- but when you bully someone based on the way their body is shaped or the way their face is formed, then you're a special kind of awful.

As for Rebel, again -- preach it, sister!

As a recent victim of congestive heart failure, I am sick and tired of people saying that fat people should be defended, that being fat is an aesthetic choice, that society is wrong to judge fat people. Well, guess what! Being obese is a DISEASE that will kill you, and should not be encouraged in any way shape or form. It's not OK if this woman weighs 200-300 pounds. It is a death wish.

A lot of celebs and singers before Rebel ALL said the same thing and ended up losing weight for Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers,etc... ( Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah, Ricki Lake, Jessica Simpson, etc)
She is full of crap just like the others and she will lose weight in the next year or so with a HUGE $$$ DEAL.
Her new network show is HORRIBLE! IT should be cancelled!

fat and proud

Christ you people are stupid, she's not saying that you should be obese but that we as a society are judging people on their weight and how they look and not the important things like personality, don't get me wrong being obese is wrong and a health risk, but it's people's choice if they want to be like that, I'm fat but I work out and eat healthy but I'm not obese just fat and there's a difference, just remember that next you judge someone because theirs someone out there judging you

Yep we should totally look up to someone for excusing obesity as being an intrinsic part of who you are and that you shouldn't strive to lose weight. It's OK everyone. Being unhealthily overweight is totally fine, because being fat and self-conscious about your weight is politically incorrect. In other news, heroin addicts are no longer seeking treatment for their addiction because they realized they are just being pussies and that shooting heroin is no big deal.
