This is What Jake Gyllenhaal Would Look Like If He Weren't Famous

What a difference some weight makes, huh?

The photo on the right is Jake Gyllenhaal at the recent Hollywood Film Awards, where he was celebrated for his role in "Prisoners." That's all well and good, but his face! His gauntness! His unhappy eyebrows and sunken sockets! It's all for a film role in his upcoming movie, "Nightcrawler," but suffice it to say, it's not a good look for Jake at all.

About the role, in which Jake plays a freelance crime reporter living in Los Angeles, Jake says, "It takes place in a land where I think there is a desert in a lot of ways, great opulence, and at the same time, great vastness and emptiness. I knew that [my character] was literally and figuratively hungry. [I got into a] mode where I was always a bit hungry."

Love you, you handsome bear of a man, but this emaciated look is doing nothing for you. Except making you look like a hungry serial killer a la "American Psycho." That, for sure.

How do you morons so consistently make mistakes? How the hell do any of you get jobs as writers...it's mind boggling. The only thing all of you have in common is the ability to be condescending.

Christian Bale looked exactly like Christian Bale in American Psycho. He was in great shape in that movie. Maybe you mean 'The Machinist" where Christian Bale lost a ton of weight, but he played an insomniac, not a serial killer....so who knows what the hell you're talking about?

As long as you say it sarcastically, nothing else matters, right?

I don't see a difference - he's smiling in one photo so his face looks a little fuller.

He's smiling with a beard in the first picture and not smiling/clean shaven in the second picture. That's the only difference. Morons.

Sometimes I wonder if the women who write this dreck are one awful person. The writing styles are so similar and the overall tone of these snarky posts comes across like a guy trying to write like a bitchy girl. Because nothing says girl! like! exclamation! points!Wait a minute. Harvey, is that you?

Sarah Taylor, why can't you just admit you're wrong? You're actually going to be a smartass about it...what's wrong with you? Have some guts.

Have you even seen American Psycho? Christian Bale is ripped in it. Remember the scene where's he's banging the two prostitutes and he's looking at himself flexing his muscles in the mirror? I assume you don't or you would never refer to him as emaciated.

Look up the word emaciated in a dictionary. You chose a particularly strong word and it just doesn't work.

There is a movie where Christian Bale is actually emaciated. It's called, "The Machinist". Go find yourself a screen cap and see if that isn't what an emaciated man looks like.

I'm sure you have another groundbreaking Miley Cyrus article to write, so you may be busy.
