"I have struggled with an eating disorder for over 10 years, and I take that very seriously. I take the struggle of others very seriously. I am very supportive of Demi's struggle and her recovery, as well as the recovery of anyone who is suffering from that. But this performance had absolutely nothing to do with any eating disorder, and we never intended for it to be taken that way. I'm really proud of the performance and really stand by the message of rage and pain that we were trying to express in that moment."

--Lady Gaga on Demi Lovato's claims that she helped glorify eating disorders with her latest vomit antics at SXSW a couple of weeks ago, and man, when this chick is right, she's right.

Coming from a personal stance, I never thought Gaga's puke stunt put a shining halo around bulimia -- I thought it was gross as hell, and it didn't give me a whole lot of respect for vomit at large, but embellishing the "glamour" of eating disorders? No, Demi Lovato, no.

As for Gaga's "message of rage and pain" with that whole vomit thing, also no. Because if you want to incite rage and pain in a crowd, and want to do it via bodily fluids, vomit is not the way to go. No, you want to really twiddle somebody's anger button? Take a big old dump on them. That's a sure way to make people angry.

Here's the thing: we don't need to take everything super literally all the time, guys. Just because Lady Gaga's a weird old bird who thinks vomit spray is ART doesn't mean that there's some kind of hidden puke agenda in there somewhere. Sometimes gross old puke for the sake of puke is just puke, believe it or not.

Settle down, jeez.

Lady Gaga woke up reasonable? She's a thirty year old woman who is calling being barfed on art. Eating disorders aside that was horrible and anyone who thinks it isn't is a freakin moron and deserves to spend all their money on BS.

So all the dog puke I've been cleaning up all these years has been art? Who knew. My doggie pals must have been so proud expressing all that rage and pain in art form and I didn't even have a clue.
