It's Time to Get Angry Over "Duck Dynasty" Again!

3/27/2014 4:00 PM PDT, by
Get ready to bang your head against a wall, because that sweet, sweet pain will be the only thing that can take your mind off this latest "Duck Dynasty" ridiculousness. Because, as if you could ever forget, they don't take kindly to homosexuals. We know because one of the cast members, Phil Robertson, ran his mouth all about it last year:

“Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine. Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

And now Phil's son, Willie Robertson, has had his own little interview on the topic. CNN asked him if he agreed with his father, and here's what he said:

“I believe what the Bible says. You have to read the Bible and make up your own mind. God will ultimately decide that. We don't profess to be God and we certainly don't profess to be perfect because we have our own sins to deal with.”

OK, yeah, but does he believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible and what it says concerning gay people?

“That’s how it was said.”

Well, there you go. And remember, the Bible calls being gay an "abomination" and says that "they shall surely be put to death." So, you know, there's that.

He believes and you don't. You think he is horrible because he believes. Some may think you horrible because you don't believe. Stalemate. Get over it.

I just love how homosexuals were not so accepted 25 yrs ago...but NOW... because us Christians STILL believe the bible 25 yrs later...we are the sinners!!! If u don't agree w/being gay now you lose your job, your standing in the community, etc.....its crazy how we as Christians who have believed the bible forever, we are now crucified because its so "cool" to be gay! I dont flaunt my bedroom antics so why should it be so cool to FLAUNT being Gay? its ridiculous!!! Guess we'll see who we see in heaven an who we don't!!! I believe the Bible not the new Fads!!!! God Bless You!

So there are people who don't accept homosexuality. And there are people who, despite that or because of it, like watching them on the TV. Get over it already. You're not going to change it. Abortion, homosexuality, climate change - there's not one 100% correct side to any of those issues. As you go through life you're going to find that people don't always agree with the things you think are absolute truths.

You can continue to be a whiney baby about it, or you can move on to more important stuff. Like why sites like this one simultaneously disparage 16 year olds for posting suggestive pics to Instagram and utilize the same to get hits.

Wow, if someone doesn't believe what YOU believe they're wrong? These people were asked a question and you didn't like the answer so they're wrong? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and just BC they don't agree with you, you get're just as bad as those that didn't like GAYS 20 years ago! Respect other's opinions!

As a Christian myself. I believe in the Bible. BUT, it does not make me or Phil or Willie or Mel a Bigot. The problem with people who stand opposite of the "conservative" view is that they write and/or speak as if Phil, Mel or Willie wrote the Bible and then shame them as if the are the authors of the book and call out a bigots. They did not write the Bible. They are citing from the word. So when they quote from it they are sharing their beliefs based on their relationship with GOD. I think your mad at the wrong person. Instead of calling the followers of God biggots shouldn't you be pointing the finger to the one who created the book? Of course you won't... that would be took scary.... Anyways, here's a shocker... I love all people, people who identify themselves by their sexual orientation or religion. Both conservatives and liberals need Lots of Love and patience. I "feel" in my heart that a lot of misplaced anger such as your article written on Duck Dynasty is just sensationalizing hate against those who choose to live a life of higher self standards. Notice... I said "self standards".
