The Tragic Tale of Mila Kunis and the Worst Interview of All Time

6/25/2014 3:00 AM PDT, by
Listen, Mila Kunis is just wonderful, she really is. She's funny and talented and intelligent and just so, so gorgeous. But she also did this interview, and honestly, she came off super, super rude. And you might think "OK, whatever, she didn't laugh or something," but no, you don't understand. She was straight up rude. Here, read some of the quotes and then we'll talk:

When asked how she was feeling:

“I don’t talk about that for publication."

On if she seeks roles in smaller movies now:

“Not really, because in the middle of all that [filming indie movies] I still did `Oz (the Great and Powerful)’ and I still did `Jupiter Ascending,’ so that sort of destroys your assumption."

On the difficulties of acting in dramas:

“I hate when people ask me this question. People have this misconception that comedy’s easy… I’m always looking for challenges and I find a lot of things to be challenging. It can be the director, the producer, a lot of things. I just want to work with people more talented than I am that I can learn from.”

On moving to the U.S. from Ukraine when she was seven:

“I’ve talked about me moving to America in a hundred interviews. It’s the most mundane subject possible, it’s like everyone’s immigrant story. It was much harder for my 13-year-old brother, it was much harder for my parents ... I know what your next question is so let’s just skip it. You’re going to ask me what I think about what’s going on now in Ukraine. Just because I lived there until I was seven doesn’t mean I identify with Ukraine.”

On why she started acting as a child:

“Honestly asking a nine-year-old why, who knows? It was just a fun thing to do. Other kids take karate, art, gymnastics and I happened to take acting classes, it was just fun. There was nothing else to it. I don’t know if that’s the answer you’re fishing for.”

Dang, right? But to be fair, Mila is pretty pregnant at the moment, and she might not be feeling too hot. And there's also that thing where one person doesn't have to be a bright and shining angel every single day. This lady has brought us way too much joy to write her off after one bad interview ... but goodness, guys, this is pretty bad.

What an a*hole. Still, (pregnant or not) she should still be a professional.
I've been a pregnant working girl (twice),and you keep those emotions on check. Like she did on the ELLEN DEGENEROUS show. She's knows how to pick her mark...not ELLEN (Mila was a pussy cat with ELLEN).
I feel bad for the interviewer (she/he) was just doing the job to support his/her family, and Mila just gave this person her venom.

That was great! The interviewer should have prepared relevant questions for her instead of asking the same things that have been asked over and over. Lack of professionalism on the interviewer's part. The answers received were deserved. A real journalist would have made sure not to ask stale questions. I love her answers. She's a gem. Thank god for people like her.

That was not very gracious of this girl. I look at the stars of old, who were gracious under any circumstance. They were beloved because they shined and were genuinely patient and kind. This girl is none of that. I will never watch any more of her movies or shows.

Yikes. If you don't want to talk, reschedule the interview. Don't be an asshole to some poor reporter who's just trying to make an article and get paid.

Why bother

OMG 1st ask some real questions. 2. I love the fact that the next article, posted underneath, "Pregnant Mila Kunis Back Together With Macaulay Culkin After Ashton...." So take your source into consideration. What a joke.

Can you blame her? Granted, she could have been a little more gracious, but it sounds like a high school student interning asking the questions. I'd be embarrassed to post this interview, and SURE wouldn't expect a second one!

Nothing wrong with those answers, sounds like she deals in facts, not rude. Interviewer t00 sensitive?

Hey Honey, you're just an actress. You play dress up and make believe and pretend to be something you're not. You're nobody special and anybody can do what you do. Like the song says, all you've gotta do is act naturally. So, I guess that means that you act like an asshole even in interviews because you are one.

She is pregnant, but also she is right. If you're a professional interviewer, then you shouldn't be asking the same tired questions Mila has been asked since she burst on the screen as Jackie on that 70's Show, you should know by now she moved here from the Ukraine at 7 and that she learned English by watching TV. You should know that being from a place doesn't mean you identify anymore with that place than anyone else who can acknowledge that what is going on there is horrible. Be a little creative in your interviews and think up some new questions. And remember this woman is pregnant, and sometimes pregnant women are bitchy. Sometimes women who aren't pregnant are bitchy. Just because she's famous doesn't mean she should have to act a certain way to appease the masses.

Oh, please. She was fine.

From what I’ve heard she was just there to promote her movie and the first thing the interviewer did was start asking her about her pregnancy (the ‘how are you feeling’ question) and she was NOT there to talk about that. I don’t blame her for not wanting to be very gracious to him after that. He was lucky she talked to him at all. She did nothing wrong.

Wow!! I love Mila Kunis, but that was probably one of the rudest things I have ever read.

The interviewer was asking personal questions that were very annoying for her, perhaps she did not want to remember any of her past life that had been asked several times in her past interviews. She has every right to refuse answering a question she's not comfortable with. I don't understand how she is seen as rude. And to people saying that being pregnant is not an excuse to be rude, hasn't clearly experienced how it is to be pregnant. The side effects of hormonal changes in a woman's body differ from one person to another. Some might act like a complete angel and some would be very irritable at the slightest annoyance. Her answering "its all good" when she was asked how was the interview was a sign of being professional. She could have been honest and told him how a total douchebag he was.
