The Tragic Tale of Mila Kunis and the Worst Interview of All Time
Listen, Mila Kunis is just wonderful, she really is. She's funny and talented and intelligent and just so, so gorgeous. But she also did this interview, and honestly, she came off super, super rude. And you might think "OK, whatever, she didn't laugh or something," but no, you don't understand. She was straight up rude. Here, read some of the quotes and then we'll talk:
When asked how she was feeling:
“I don’t talk about that for publication."
On if she seeks roles in smaller movies now:
“Not really, because in the middle of all that [filming indie movies] I still did `Oz (the Great and Powerful)’ and I still did `Jupiter Ascending,’ so that sort of destroys your assumption."
On the difficulties of acting in dramas:
“I hate when people ask me this question. People have this misconception that comedy’s easy… I’m always looking for challenges and I find a lot of things to be challenging. It can be the director, the producer, a lot of things. I just want to work with people more talented than I am that I can learn from.”
On moving to the U.S. from Ukraine when she was seven:
“I’ve talked about me moving to America in a hundred interviews. It’s the most mundane subject possible, it’s like everyone’s immigrant story. It was much harder for my 13-year-old brother, it was much harder for my parents ... I know what your next question is so let’s just skip it. You’re going to ask me what I think about what’s going on now in Ukraine. Just because I lived there until I was seven doesn’t mean I identify with Ukraine.”
On why she started acting as a child:
“Honestly asking a nine-year-old why, who knows? It was just a fun thing to do. Other kids take karate, art, gymnastics and I happened to take acting classes, it was just fun. There was nothing else to it. I don’t know if that’s the answer you’re fishing for.”
Dang, right? But to be fair, Mila is pretty pregnant at the moment, and she might not be feeling too hot. And there's also that thing where one person doesn't have to be a bright and shining angel every single day. This lady has brought us way too much joy to write her off after one bad interview ... but goodness, guys, this is pretty bad.
